Box Canon birds need more protection

Dear Editor,
The town of Ouray has a wonderful park in Box
Canon. The staff are caring and engaged and the falls are impressive. The town of Ouray also has a responsibility to protect the endangered black swifts that nest in the grotto near the falls. Many of our friends have traveled to Ouray and spent money on lodging and dining just because the black swifts were there. Ouray has the largest nesting colony in Colorado.
