Road funding measure goes to the ballot
Ouray County voters will have a roads-funding question to consider on the ballot in November, which includes a sunset provision ending one part of the funding in 25 years.
The question asks voters to approve two forms of taxes to generate funds for roads maintenance. A new 1 percent use tax on vehicle purchases would generate an estimated $188,152 per year, based on an average of the last five years.
