SILVERTON – A 56-year-old Lafayette woman died late Monday night, Aug. 12, after a tree fell on the tent she and two other women were sleeping in along the Colorado Trail on upper Cascade Creek. “It is with a sad heart that we announce a tragic accident occurring on the Colorado Trail, just under Grizzly Peak,” Sheriff Bruce Conrad said on Tuesday.
