Dear Editor,

The Ouray County BOCC is proposing a massive property tax increase (up to 3.7+ mils) *and* up to a 3.5% “use fee” on all newly registered vehicles to fund Road and Bridge.

Unfortunately, these new taxes have no relationship to how much an individual actually uses county roads and gives tourists a free ride. They only tax county residents based on how big your house is and if you have granite countertops and if you purchase a new vehicle.
