Wildlife commission expands access program
The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission voted to expand its Public Access Program by 100,000 acres in time for the fall hunting season, at the commission’s meeting last week in Telluride.
The expansion is the first step in a plan to double the size of the access program acres from 480,000 to almost 1 million acres.
The program enrolls lands across the state for wildlife-related uses, including hunting, fishing and wildlife viewing. Most lands are not accessible by vehicle. Most properties a...
