LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor,

There is no housing “problem” for the governments of Ouray/Ridgway or Ouray County to “fix” (other than reducing taxes and regulations for new construction). It is not a valid function of government to supply housing or subsidize housing costs at taxpayer expense. The current pricing of rentals is simply supply and demand in action. If business or schools cannot hire enough people due to the price of housing, then they will have to pay more to attract qual...
