Snowbound trails keep volunteers busy
OURAY COUNTY
The Ouray Trail Group has been busy to start the summer after a massive snow season caused avalanches to wreak havoc on many local trails. They are relying on technology – both old and new – to get the job done.
Despite the snow, “I think we are in better shape this year than in past years,” said John Hullburd, wilderness coordinator for the group.
The group relies on hikers’ use of technology to find out about trail conditions so volunteers can make repairs.
