Bear euthanized at Ridgway State Park
A female bear attracted by campers’ food at Ridgway State Park was euthanized after displaying aggressive behavior late Tuesday night.
A Western Colorado Conservation Corps crew of nine was camping at Pa-Co-Chu-Puk in the dispersed tent camping area when a sow bear came into the campsite around 10:30 p.m., according to Colorado Parks & Wildlife Area Wildlife Manager Renzo DelPiccolo. The bear, estimated to be around three years old, weighed around 100 pounds, he said.
