|Thanking all the communities||| Print ||
The family of Rick Williams would like to thank the miners of the Revenue-Virginius for their efforts following the events on Nov. 17, and your bravery and camaraderie will be remembered in high esteem and held dear to our hearts forever. Rick cared deeply for all of you and concerned himself with getting you home to your wives and children everyday. You deserve the biggest recognition and gratitude from us following this devastating event.
We thank the communities of Durango, Silverton, Ouray and Ridgway for all the support and acts of kindness that were given and received following our loss. We send our gratitude to School District 9R and Congregation Har Shalom of Durango; St. Daniel's, the EMS responders and The Beaumont Hotel of Ouray; Ridgway Lodge, True Grit and Panny's Pizza of Ridgway; and St. Patrick's of Silverton. We sincerely appreciated the beautiful candlelight vigil that was organized and attended by so many caring members of all these communities. It was a truly humbling and surreal experience, and without you it could never have happened.
Lastly, we would like to thank all of our close and distant friends and neighbors who came from near and far who brought forth food, cards, flowers and monetary donations. There are very few words that can accurately express our gratitude for all you gave during the difficult and sad time. The bond we share as families of miners and as general neighbors of this special region of the San Juan Mountains is tremendous and sentimental. The way you all came together and showed your support was a true blessing and will be a story that we will share through our family tree in recognition for everything you have done.
Thank you all so very much.
Judith, Nathan, Aaron and the Williams Family
