Rick Williams, guidance counselor for Ridgway and Ouray schools, learned this week that he has been selected for the Cynthia E. Gail Counselor of the Year award for Colorado. At Ridgway School Board’s Tuesday meeting, Principal Jim Bob Hobbs said Williams “works tirelessly to promote opportunities for our students and give them a step into the future.” Williams was nominated for the award by former students, college admission departments, the Pinhead Institute and other community members. He will receive the award at a ceremony in Colorado Springs next week.
